The Coronavirus Pandemic & Its Effects On Our Lives

A Pastoral Letter from the Parish Priest

Letter 4 – 5 April 2020

Palm Sunday & Holy Week

My dearest Friends in the Lord,

Here I am with the 4th Pastoral Letter since we all have been caught unawares by the shock of the pandemic which has now become a world-wide tragedy.

I am reminded of the words of Jesus: “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11.28-30)

As we continue life under the national lockdown, let us take comfort from these words of Jesus. “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Let us turn to Jesus Christ our Saviour especially as we begin the Holy Week with the celebration of Palm Sunday.

The Springline Parish website has built a page ‘ON LINE CHURCH’. Please follow this link and you will find the resources to help you during your life of self isolation or staying home.

We will do all we can to provide you this week with on-line prayer resources for Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Vigil/Day.

I would be very grateful if local Churchwardens could inform the village Church communities about the Springline ‘ON-LINE CHURCH’ as some of them may not be aware of these resources on our new website.

We are all very grateful to the Local Village Councils/Meetings, Village Church Councils and the Springline Good Neighbour Scheme and a host of other very generous and very kind volunteers who are helping those who are self isolating and others who are on their own with shopping and other needs during this terrible time. May God bless us all in these difficult times!

If there is any way, I or any of the Ministry Team or Churchwardens can help, please give us a shout. You can view all contact details here.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all now and always.

Do keep safe and let us pray and care for each other in our families and in our communities.

With my kindest regards and every blessing,

Father Sebastian
