A Pastoral Letter from the Parish Priest – Third Sunday after Trinity – 20th June ‘21
My dearest Friends in the Lord,
Today is Father’s Day. George Herbert writes: “One father is more than a hundred schoolmasters.” We all remember our dads and we owe so much to them for who we are! Happy Father’s Day to all dads!
We are opening all our churches for public worship from 27th June onwards with the celebratory service at St Cuthbert’s Brattleby at 10.30 am. Bishop Nigel Peyton, Assistant Bishop, Diocese of Lincoln, will preside and preach at the service. For the sake of knowing numbers and socially distanced seating arrangements please contact Mr John Moore, Churchwarden, to book a placeif you would like to attend. His number is: 07974 076 056.
The new Church Worship Services plan for July and August will appear in the July-August edition of the ‘Village Venture’. As we are opening the churches for public worship we hope we can return to normal times again. Let us welcome each other and care for each other as we return to our lovely churches to worship God and to share our fellowship with each other.
We have heard of the spike in the Delta Variant of the covid 19. That reminds us that we must not let down our guards. Let us continue to take care and keep safe and protect ourselves and each other. Life is a precious gift from God and we must cherish it by caring for each other and respecting each other.
The gospel of this week is so appropriate for these times. Jesus, while calming the storm says, “Peace! Be still!” And then he says to the frightened disciples, “Why are you afraid? Have you still no faith?” Peace! Stillness! Faith! It all seems connected. Peace often comes in our still moments of faith in God and Man (human beings). And like the disciples, we often forget that Jesus is present in our boats! And when we do not recognise Jesus (God) is in our lives, we are more likely to be overcome with fear and anxiety. Jesus is telling us today: “Peace! Be still! Have faith! Do not be afraid! I am with you always and everywhere!”
LIVE 10.30 am On-Line Parish Eucharist on ‘zoom’ – Sunday 13th June 10.30 am

A Prayer for Father’s Day
Loving God,
We thank you for the gift of good dads, and everything that they do for us.
Help them to have patience when we’re difficult, wisdom when we can’t see the way, strength when we need comforting, and love at all times, so that, through them, we get a little glimpse of how you feel about us.
Our heavenly Father, Amen.
A Prayer for blessings on the diocesan restructuring plans
Almighty God, source of our hope and all good things;
you call us in love to share in the work of creation in making all things new.
Bless our diocese: may we be faithful in our worship; confident in our discipleship; and joyful in our service; that, through us, the world may catch a glimpse of the love you have for each one of us, made known to us in your son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
A prayer for the Parish and Church
Abba Father, purify my Parish Community in the precious blood of Jesus and fill my Church and Parish with your Holy Spirit. Amen.
The Springline Parish – Nine Churches, One Parish, Following Jesus.
