A Pastoral Letter from the Parish Priest – Second Sunday after Trinity – 13th June ‘21
My dearest Friends in the Lord,

We are all waiting eagerly to hear whether the remaining covid 19 restrictions will be lifted or not. The way infection rates have risen recently; one wonders what will happen. It has been a terrible year for most and everyone is waiting to get back to a semblance of normality.

World leaders had been meeting in a Cornish resort from 11th to 13th June for this year’s G7 meeting. As we all know, the G7 (Group of Seven) is an organisation made up of the world’s seven largest so-called advanced economies. They are Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK and the United States. One wonders what fruits this high-profile meeting will bring about? Will it make any difference helping to make a better world? Let us hope the meeting does not end up with a lengthy waffle but tries earnestly to tackle specific international problems like the covid 19 pandemic, climate change, world poverty and terrorism to name a few.

Unlike the hugely publicised G7 meeting, we hear of specific actions by very quiet and gentle heroes during this difficult year. Reading Lincolnshire news, I was quite touched to hear of a mum and son who give out free Bibles to the people of Lincoln on Lincoln’s High Street every Saturday have said they’re there to spread kindness, even though not everyone is interested. Eva Twesigye, 39, and her son Elijah Ssegawa, 12, from North Hykeham, take to the High Street every Saturday, rain or shine. Elijah shared why he enjoys doing it with his mum. “I do it because we can reach people that don’t go to church and would not have had the opportunity otherwise. “I also love meeting different people and the kind comments that some people make about me.”

A road-map for the Resourcing a Sustainable Church: A Time to Change – Together

The First Step: By early Autumn each village church community is expected to decide what type of Church it wants to be classified as for the future. The decisions will have consequences for worship and ministry in the individual village churches. The Church Types are: Key Mission Church/Local Mission Church/Community Church/Festival Church or a  Closed Church.

A Prayer for blessings on the diocesan restructuring plans

Almighty God, source of our hope and all good things;
you call us in love to share in the work of creation in making all things new.
Bless our diocese: may we be faithful in our worship;
confident in our discipleship; and joyful in our service;
that, through us, the world may catch a glimpse of the love you have for each one of us,
made known to us in your son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

A prayer for the Parish and Church

Abba Father, purify my Parish Community in the precious blood of Jesus

and fill my Church and Parish with your Holy Spirit. Amen.

The Springline Parish – Nine Churches, One Parish, Following Jesus.

Do help us to help you where we can!

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you now and always.

With my love and prayer to each one of you,
