for The Twentieth First Sunday after Trinity – All Saint’s Day
Some Prayers/Intercessions for the Twentieth Sunday after Trinity
“Prayer is a plant, the seed of which is sown in the heart of every Christian.
If it is well cultivated and nourished it will produce fruit, but if it is neglected,
it will wither and die.”
Jesus is alive.
Love has won the victory over evil and death.
Today we commemorate the All Saints Day. We thank God for all those people who lived lives after the heart of God who is a God of love. They made love radiant in their lives of humble service to their brothers and sisters especially the poorest and the most vulnerable in society. Trusting in God’s promises and in the intercessions of the saints, let us bring our prayers to God in the name of His Son Jesus Christ.
Let us pray to God, whose saints have witnessed to his glory.
Everlasting God, we pray that your Church, built on the foundation of the saints, will be faithful to the teaching of Christ so that it reflects his likeness. Lord and Father, as you kindled the flame of your love in the hearts of the saints, give to us the same faith and power of love; that, we may benefit from their unselfish examples.
let us pray to the Lord: (short pause for silent prayer)
Lord, in your Mercy:
All Hear our Prayer
We pray for the world and for our nation:
Creator God, we pray for those who represent us in government both here in our country and throughout the world, still struggling in the ongoing pandemic. May they be men and women of integrity, guided by a desire for public service and a love of the truth. We ask that they also be just and compassionate, so that all peoples may be led in the ways of righteousness and mercy. let us pray to the Lord: (short pause for silent prayer)
Lord, in your Mercy:
All Hear our Prayer
We pray for our Parish:
As we have come together again as a worshipping community of the Springline Parish,
we turn to you O God for your grace to know you, love you and follow you by following your son Jesus, so that we may nourish a heart for the poor and lonely, the sick and the lonely in our midst and that we may remain united as a united and caring Church Family to spread the ‘Good News’ of your love in our village communities, let us pray to the Lord: (short pause for silent prayer)
Lord, in your Mercy:
All Hear our Prayer
We now pray for those in our midst who are in real and urgent need of our prayerful loving support, those who are known to us or dear to us… we bring them by name in prayer to our Heavenly Father……..pause for prayer…

And we pray for ourselves … (after a silent, slightly longer pause …)
Faithful God, we thank you for the example of all the saints .. Help us to follow in their footsteps by loving God and loving people as they did following Jesus Christ….
At the end:
Father,
we feel loved,
we feel forgiven,
we feel saved.
Thank you for Jesus Christ your Son
who died for us on the cross
and rose again from the dead
and who offers us
true peace and true hope.
Help us to hold on to him
and to follow him
the way, the truth and the life
as we entrust you our prayers
in the name of your Son Jesus Christ.
Amen.
